Loading WADs into MacDoom

Converting wad to MacDoom Format

Make sure you are using WAD files for your version of Doom. Doom2 wads for Doom2 and Doom1/Ultimate Doom wads for Doom1/Ultimate Doom.

Most wads will work without conversion. All you need to do is change the filetype. Download this Filetyper program, which when you drag the wad file icon into it the correct type will be set.
Or you can do it using a program like Filebuddy or Resedit.
In that case make the filetype
.WAD
and the creator type
idSW

In some cases an extra program is needed to conevert the wad these can be downloaded from Dave's MacDOOM Utlity Page. This would only be required when the wad contains new graphics for example.

From Mac to PC Wad format
All the wads I have designed on my Mac have worked fine on my friends PC without any modification. I just transfered the wads to their PC hard disks using a PC formatted floppy or using the internet. Just make sure your filenames are valid for the PC's DOS file system (8 characters a dot then WAD extension, eg FILENAME.WAD)

Loading the extra wad files
